<br />
Do you know the story of <u>The Star Thrower</u> by Loren Eiseley? It has always been one of my favorites. It goes something like this (a paraphrase).<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">There was once a wise man walking along the beach. </span></strong><strong><span style="color: blue;">One day he noticed a young man reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;"></span></strong><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">The wise man asked, "May I ask what it is that you are doing?" </span></strong><strong><span style="color: blue;">The young man replied, "Throwing starfish into the ocean."</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;"></span></strong><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">"Why," asked the wise man. T</span></strong><strong><span style="color: blue;">he young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;"></span></strong><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">Then the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;"></span></strong><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "I made a difference to that one!"</span></strong></div>
<br />
It is easy to feel that one can't make a difference for Christ. However, little steps can add up to make a long journey and drops in a bucket eventually fill the bucket.<br />

How does it work? Bibles are purchased at a dollar store, labeled with a number and a link to this blog. The bibles are then distributed in places where books are allowed to be dropped off or Christian business who are willing to participate. People who receive the Bibles can leave comments or questions on the <a href="http://onebibleatatime.blogspot.com/p/comments.html">COMMENTS</a> page. One Bible At A Time lives in the hope of changing lives, one Bible at a time.
